Dearest Diary,
It was my first day on holiday and to celebrate, the eldest Miss Lindsay and I took our savings and headed to the marketplace. Contrary to the general custom of such excursions I did not bring home a new bonnet on this particular occasion. Instead, I purchased a new looking glass for the master quarters of the estate as well as some footwear appropriate for the warmer climate of the summer months. We were momentarily delayed by the afternoon rain, but as soon as it passed we were able to away for some breads and soup at a nearby eaterie. Our day was incomplete without a visit to Mother and Father and a late dinner followed by the delightful literary adventures of Mr. Sherlock and his counterpart.
Lady Pigeon and the Chairman however, have found themselves quite restless this evening. This can be unaccounted for considering the afternoon walk about the grounds that seemed to leave them a trifle drowsy. I shall hope we might get some rest before the morrow...
